January 5, 2007 at 4:07 amHi,
Setting up a vegas edit station for the first time and trying to get output to a ntsc monitor. Selected pv to ext mon, looked in the prefs and other settings. What we’re getting is the video output but it’s not locked almost looks like no genlock on an analog signal. Any ideas? Thanks – Ralph -

January 5, 2007 at 2:46 pmThat’s exactly how we have it hooked up. We have the drive hooked up one FW Port and the deck hooked up to the other. The deck we’re using is a sony dsr-25 dvcam deck. We’re hooked up to that via bnc cables to the monitor. We’re getting a picture but it is not stable. I’m poking around the interface for some set up menus to check but so far nothing is jumping out at me. It’s not that I’m inexperienced, I work in FCP and Avid, the interface on this is just different. We’re running version 6. Any help is always appreciated.

January 5, 2007 at 7:44 pmI suspect that something is amioss with the interface to (or within) the dsr-25. Do you have another device to hook up instead to troubleshoot that?

January 8, 2007 at 12:49 pmThe dsr 25 works perfectly with our FCP station, I’ll try this panasonic dv2000 but there’s no deck control. It’s more likely that some setting somewhere is amiss.

January 9, 2007 at 2:42 pmWhat are your settings, is there a machine template for this unit? We’re suspecting that may have a bum FW card. While I’m not convinced our project settings are totally correct, no matter what we do the ntsc monitor isn’t stable during playback.
