I don’t think that there’s any question that there are more Final Cut users than Vegas users.

Does that mean I should be using Final Cut? Been there, done that.
Vegas runs circles around Final Cut.

If all NLEs had the same features and did everything the same way, what’s the point?

I think that Vegas is by far the NLE software available.

To create your audio mix use envelopes.

Select the audio track and hit v and you will see a blue line appear across the center of the track. Double-click on the blue line and you can drag the point that appears that to adjust the volume. Add more points to keep adjusting.

There should be no sync issues if you’ve created the audio files correctly.

If you really want more of a Hollywood approach to changing the audio, try this:

Create two more buttons on the Menu (Insert>Empty Button).

Name one Audio One (or whatever) and the other, Audio Two.

Set Audio One so that its Destination is the Manu Page that it’s on (specify the page by name).
Set Destination Button to be The Video.
Set the Audio Track to 1.

Do the sames for the Audio Two button except the audio track is set to 2.

Now, when you hit the audio button, the highlight will bounce back to The Video, but the audio playback will be reset.

Mary has a good suggestion there.
I would add that if you want the text to scroll on/off within the frame (not the top and bottom of the screen), you can use a mask to achieve that.

It’s probably because your hard drive is formatted as FAT32 which has a size limitation for file size.

Reformat your drive to NTFS.
