You can edit Mpeg2 on Vegas, but try Mpeg Wizard from Womble.

There’s an important difference between V and Shift/V.

V will toggle the envelopes on an off being seen on the timeline. Shift/V will also toggle, but wil delete all your points!

When you render the audio, make sure you are defining the same section as the video.

You don’t do anything different as far as rendering your Mpeg file in Vegas.
In DVDA, change your Project Properties > Disc Properties to 8.50 GB.
