[Laszlo Kovacs] “My question, what is an easy/convenient way
to reuse this somewhere else, let’s say in
    Vegas? “

There is no “easy” way to grab just the menu mpeg.
You might just capture it from the DVD player if you are set up to digitize analog video.

April 11, 2005 at 12:23 am in reply to: network rendering Question???

[donatello] “i’m pretty sure you need dual cpu to run 2 NRS”

No, you can run two network nodes on a hyperthreaded machine.
As you suggest, you need to set up an alternate port.

DVDA2 does not support dual layer burning. Even if your project will fit on 4.3 gigs, why waste an expensive DL disc?

If you have room for another copy of the media in the interem, use Save as > copy and trim media with project.

DVD Architect 2 will not burn with extra data files, but you could create the DVD content with it and burn with somethinge else, such as Nero.

April 2, 2005 at 7:32 pm in reply to: Create a spot shadow with VEGAS 5.0

Dou you want a shadow (darker area) on the player or to follow the player with a lighter area? (that would be my choice).

Anyway, you put a copy of the media on another track on top of (and in sync with) the footage.

Make the top footage darker, then use the cookie cutter to create the ligher area which will be the original footage showing through. Then keyframe the cookie cutter position as needed.

April 2, 2005 at 4:40 am in reply to: Drawing a square (border?)

You could create your white border in a paint program with an alpha background (.png format works best), or you could insert an empty event an apply the Border FX.

In either case you can resize and move it with track motion.
