If everything is moving, then what you are moving involves everything. If you still have doubts, email me with a veg file and I’ll take a look.

If you are asking if you can feed multiple cameras simultaneoulsy into Vegas and capture as you switch between them, then yes IF you have an external switcher with firewire output (or have a way to transcode analog to digital).

Vegas is very good at multi-camera editing, however, where you capture each camera’s footage and edit as a post-production process. There are several approaches, but none as sophisticated (or fun)as using our Excalibur plugin (click below my name for details).

[Jeff Kohn] “Thanks Gary, but won’t this trim my original footage? “

No, it copies the sections that are in the timeline.

Chop up the footage so you wind up only with what you need on the timeline. Then, save the project to your external drive using Copy and Trim Media with Project.

April 14, 2005 at 6:01 am in reply to: Split screen ?

If your footage is already framed correctly:

Track 1 in Compositing Mode>Mask: Split Screen Media from Media Generators>Checkerboard with Mask Generator FX applied

Track 2 (made compositing child to track 1): Video 1 (on left)

Track 3: Video 2 (on right)

You could also use Track Motion, posiibly with Pan/crop to reposition yur video anywhere you want.

The black bar can be made from generated media or created in a paint program with a transparent background.

April 13, 2005 at 7:14 pm in reply to: wacom users please advise

I have had some trouble since switching to a widescreen.

I haven’t really tried that hard to get it solved, though. Maybe give Wacom customer support a call and let us know if there is a solution.
