Only if you need to make sure that the footage that was recorded over doesn’t peek through.

If you want the same zoom on each one, create one event with the zoom, copy it, then paste attributes on anything else that’s selected.
If you want something more sofisticated, like creating zooms automatically and alternate zoom-ins and zoom-outs (for example) try Excalibur which does this in a few clicks.

If they are for your personal use, you have nothing to gain by bulk erasing.

… or if the events have no other FX alreday applied, you could apply your chain to one, Ctrl/C the event to copy, select the other events, then paste attributes by right clicking on one of the selected ones.

It would be much easier to make a window dub (copy with on-screen time code) right from the camcorder to VHS.

1)With Dual core, you can have two threads. Leaving the default set to 4 is fine (it will only use 2). If you want to do other work while the render is going on, set it to 1.

Not unless you are judging the video only on your computer monitor and EVERYTHING looks blurry on it.

I will leave it to others to compare and contrast.
If you are looking for a menu by menu, button by button approach, that will not be found much in The Vegas 6 Companion. The manual is better for that. My approach is to walk the viewer through specific tasks and learn the specific tools involved with completing that task.
At 12 hours, ‘extensive demo’ would be an apt description 🙂

It can easily be done in Vegas using keyframes in the Pan/Crop tool.
Also, Excalibur has a tool that will do this to your whole slideshow with one click.
