Hi folks!I’m have been using Vegas for a mth now n I would like to learn more about vegas.I have to make a choice between Timoney Duncan’s “Complete Training Vegas 6” and Gary’s “Vegas 6 Companion”. Can someone advise me here? My 2 requirements is step by step walk thru of the commands, and an extensive demo of most/all the advance features of Vegas 6.

I will leave it to others to compare and contrast.

If you are looking for a menu by menu, button by button approach, that will not be found much in The Vegas 6 Companion. The manual is better for that. My approach is to walk the viewer through specific tasks and learn the specific tools involved with completing that task.

At 12 hours, ‘extensive demo’ would be an apt description 🙂

FWIW, I haven’t seen Tim’s DVDs but I’ve met him and he’s extremely knowledgeable and freely shares information. I haven’t met Gary but I have his DVDs and they are excellent, having saved my rear last Christmas when my work bought Vegas and asked me to have a fully produced video in a week. With Vegas and Gary’s discs it was a cakewalk. (not to be confused with Cakewalk, maker of the fine Sonar software).
