Best to go out line-level. If your sound card line in is mini, then you probably need two RCA to stereo mini cable.

Excalibur has terrific multi-cam functionality with Vegas, and is quite a bit more advanced (and less expensive) than the United Media /Premiere combination.

To the left of the transport controls (under the track headers) is a slider and a yellow triangle. If, when you play the timeline, the Rate next to the slider does not read 1.00, reset your ‘normal playback’ with the triangle.

I find the easiest way to do this is to keep the render template at Mpeg (assuming you’ve done the video first), then click once on the mpeg file. This brings the file name into the name field and when you change the template to AC3, it’s already there for you. The extension changes automatically an no worries about the same spelling, spaces, etc.

You want to make it as large as you can while still fitting all your assets (video, audio, menu elements) on the disc without encoding at a higher rate than DVD players can handle (about 8.2Mbps).

3.2GBs is fine. A bit larger would have probably been fine too.

I should have written ‘track header level slider’.

The default DVDA video video stream default settings of 8,000,000 maxium bps will probably put your file size for the 1:19:16 project higher than can fit on a single-sided DVD (depending on your content).

Tracks one and three are in 3D compositing mode. As I said before, that will slow your render quite a bit. Click on the green box next to the level slider and change the mode to Source alpha.
