Nope.
The Kona’s will only deliver SMPTE video frames out of FCP,However- please note that The iPad will properly playback 1280x 720 HD materials- save yourself the grief and use 720 if you want to monitor your video correctly.

Interestingly enough, if the XDCam video is already rendered internally to ProRes-
a Quicktime Conversion at this point ( in FCP v6.02 or later i believe) will render out a ProRes file, as far as I have heard from the apple guys, this is really about the only time this setting works they way one would expect. Conversion of one codec correctly into another.

you should be using the correct Setup in FCP first
it should say –
AJA KONA LHE- NTSC 8 Bit to DV and make sure that you go to View > External Video> Show all framesand you should be able to see your video out.

however only the HDCam and DVCPROHD tape formats are 8 bit on this list.
F900R models (with hdsdi) has always output 10bit
As do all Varicam models after the Varicam f model
The Pdw 800 outputs 10bit via HDSDI when the 24p module is included in the camera.
The Canon XF cameras HDSDI is 10bit too.What happens is the 8bits native of info is output evenly across the 10bit pipe, since this is being done hardware it will offer the recorder you the highest quality conversion of the bit depth allowing for the best quality thru post and with VFX handling.

Use the 1080i or PSF settings and the downconversion will work fine.

Analog input sources need to be manually set in the Kona Control Panel, if you right click ( or hold the control key and click your mouse) you will be able to set the input to accept component input.
What camera you are using, some are not compatible for HDMI input.
