the component can also be configured as composite, Y/C ( with extra cable) and component, the LH cannot do multiple composite signals without additional hardware, If you have an I/O that can convert the SDI out to the additional analog signals.
if you are going that way get a Kona2 so that you have the upconvert also.

Walter – the kona LH is better suited for this task with it;s component in capability- It however does not do any up conversions.
as for storage a simple sata array would be better than using FW for this task.

It is excactly the same than 480i crt (ntsc) won’t handle unfiltered 480p without flicker.”Since most 1080i CRTs do not play true 1080p images, if nothing more than because there are only true 1080p 24 in the Dual Link/ 4:4:4 world, not something that either the hvx 200 / or the in camera captures to tape from a non Panavised HDCAM.
The 1080 frame rate I am going to assume you are talking about is the 1080 24PsF that is shot by HDCam’s tape transport system and is played back normally at 48i on most displays.
Due to the spec for delivery to a display of the 1080 24psf format it is regarded as Segmented Frames.Gary Adcock

the same tricks used for digital still images works for de-noising video, you blur the blue color layer.[Blub] “Might the noise effect you see be resolved with more fill light? In other words does the camera seem to be fine when the black is given a little more light?”
This too is very true, in my tests, as I said in a properly lit shot their is not nearly as much difference in the images, however in low light the 2/3 “cameras always win the battle.

Of course there are differences with 2/3 and 1/3 chips however in a properly lit scene i am not seeing the “vast”{ difference that you are eluding to.

I love these posts – not a single shred of evidence, and not an idea of where you got your hands on one of the very few of these that are out there. While I do agree that at 1080i60 there is not a great difference to what the zu1 can do.
Now lets talk about the addition of 1080 24pA, and all of the variable speed function at 720p that can be done with the camera in addition to all of the standard def formats available.The camera captures the native DVCPROHD codec in both 720p and 1080- but your frame size is not correct. The 4:2:2 1080 DVCPROHD codec is actually 1280x 1080. not the HDV size of 1440×1080 @ 4:2:0 that you quoted

I disagree with Graeme, Apple does not support true HD monitoring using the cinema displays. you cannot color correct properly to one of these types (Dell, apple) and they can produce an inconsistent preview with interlaced content.
I recommend either a samsung 27/30in CRT on the low-end, or a good plasmas. I carry a panasonic bth1700 display on the road with me under 3K and very portable.

glad you found journalling to turn it off.
yes a failed drive will decrease the raids ability to handle data.
and it will take a while to rebuild the raid after you put the new drive in – at least 12hrs.Gary Adcock
