No thats not want you want, you want the video to match your external monitor.
Look David, you are trying to match Video on a Computer screen to material that is being viewed as Video on a video monitor / TV.
It’s about working to that goal in mind and using tools that accomplish your vision.

Yes.the HDCP security is hard coded in the HDMI protocol.
It is one of the specs required when you license the HDMI connectors and technology.

Recording of video from most consumer DVD players over HDMI is restricted by HDCP and the DRM security protocols- it is hard coded in the device and will not allow any discs to be recorded at all.

I totally disagree.
the ProApps Updates were always the little fixes that can solve a number of issues.
this one fixed a bug in ProRes capture and playback, plus a memory leak in the Color interface if I remember correctly.
I ALWAYS recommend that you update theses updates as long as you are not in the middle of a project.

sure, balanced audio over XLR’s or embedded in the HDSDI.
TC would need to be converted to 9-pin for ingest into the LHE, both Horita and I think miranda both make adaptors to convert the signal to 9-pin serial for the card.

Yeah So why are you not using “house sync” or TOD for the capture?
there are numerous ways to get TC into your system, regardless of the card you are using, this is the root of the issue.“The erroneous timecode displayed in the UI is still caused by a bug in AJA Deck Control and AJA TV. And both apps display “25 fps” – so they read the correct timecode standard back from the file, but they don’t use it to calculate the current timecode – they use 30 fps”
I understand what the issue is, what I am telling you is that because you are not capturing or defining AUX TC- it is only the TC reader is defaulting to NDF 30 fps and it is doing this because of the way you are capturing. (it shouldn’t but it does.)

No, that is how the codec was designed, so that you could use 4444 when necessary then ditch the rest.

A little birdy whispered in my ear and told me that this is only an issue when the clips do not have source TC in them {ie: captured or created w/o TC}.
Could you tell me if this is true on your system?I am working on a project and cannot change my system to test this.

nope.
He is working thru the Kona software tools, FCP is not part of the layoff he uses, and the issue is specific to PAL frame rates not being read properly when output to the screen, the Viewer is reading the file incorrectly.
