Upgrade to FCP 5 or record the audio twice.

If the camera has HD/SDI out then it should not be a problem.

Use non-controllable device and capture now, when the capture begins hit play.

May 28, 2005 at 12:30 am in reply to: KONA-2 TimeCode out?

    Richard

I have seen the TC out of the KONA2 but it does not correct.

The Sequence starts at 01:00:00:00 and goes to 1:03:30:00 a 3 minute 30 second sequence.

The TC out in the SDI signal shows 00:00:00:00 thru 00:03:30:00, it omits the hours.

I will set the offset timcode to 1:00:00:00 and give that a try.

    Thanks

May 25, 2005 at 5:43 pm in reply to: Kona 1.1.1 FCP 5.0 and Audio?

Here is how to reproduce/fix the problem.

I have tested this in SD only.

In the Kona Control Panel, set the video reference sync to Ref In, set the Control to Macintosh Desktop, and set the audio in for AES or SDI.

Select the clip(s) to capture and go into Batch Capture. Before the capture begins the desktop will appear on the KONA video. (This is not what I would expect as the proper behavior.) When the in point of the clip occurs the KONA video switches to the incomming video signal. The sync does not have time to lock up the audio and the result is out of sync for the clip. SDI audio will only result in a 2 frame audio offset, AES audio will have the 2 frame offset and a 1.5 second audio drop out at the begining of the captured clip.

The work around is the set the KONA Control Panel video reference to Video In prior to Batch capture.
