    Thanks.
I’m using mpg2’s which I encoded out of After-FX. They worked fine in DVD Studio Pro but are labled as ‘Too High Bit rate’ in Encore.
Interesting fact is I render without fields (Progressive) now and that gives best relusts. Weird?

    Thanks, that helps allot.
However: I’ve started considering that maybe there’s a way of rendering the menus at a higher resolution because it doesn’t seem to be full Broadcast res. Is that possible?

  • Haven’t burnt it yet. Thanks.

  • I’ve found that you should Rather use wav than mp3.
If it’s not that then; Try Defragging your system.
I use Markers in the timeline when cutting to music. The nice thing about markers is that they show you that you are not going insane. If the Cue is not where it used to be then you know you have aproblem.

Very, Very often…. Too often, cause I have to.
I use Executive Software Diskeeper to defrag. It’s a neat little App.

I didn’t see this post regarding the Banding problem.
It’s the most advice I’ve heard on the topic yet.
    Thanks!

Try Defragging the drive that your source files are on. That worked for me.
Windows (maybe MAc too) seems to get fragmented when using Quicktime movies in AE. But then again I’ve had the same problem with sequinces…..aaarghhghh! Why does AE mess up your dard disk so much?

No 3d lights but I know it causes the same problem. I tried ’16 bit’ but as usual it only helps a ‘bit’. Were doing something wrong, or there’s something we don’t know. Dammit!
The only thing I can think of is to apply your own ‘noise’ to the layer to break up the banding. But surely that is an expensive, bloody time-consuming work-around.
