[Tom Masters] “is this even fixable to get it to match the VO?”
Yes and No. Fixable to a certain degree i.e. you can make it “less bad”
    Match the VO……. Probably impossible.
Try as Dave suggested with STP but just be careful you don’t do too much or it will sound like they are underwater.
For the reverb there are a few plug-ins available that may help a bit. Just google “de-reverb plug in” and take your pick. Some are free others have demos available.

  • That’s classic:)
The real question is, who is actually filming him rather than getting the bride?

Are you saving the setting, before you turn it off, when you reset it?

I am sure if you look at all your takes (without the mower) you will be able to find small pieces throughout where there is no dialog. You can then cut these small pieces together to get enough room tone to “fill” under the ADR. This is usually done by the dialog editor and then the EQ and compression etc. is done by the re-recording mixer. However if you are the one man band and need to do it all yourself then that is your best bet.
Getting ADR to match production dialog is a skill that requires many things to come together starting with the mic used (and placement) in recording ADR, the performance of the actor matching the original, the skill and knowledge of the ADR editor and re-recording mixer.
BUT if you don’t have some room tone fill then no matter how good you are at EQ and compression it will be almost impossible to get it to match unless of course the room tone on the B side of the cut is almost non existent.

Do you use an onboard light for weddings?

It’s hard to say without knowing exactly what you are doing and the result you are getting.
Can you post a few clips and explain your exact set up, scene file settings and lighting used?

  • [Michael Gissing] “Perhaps you mistake swapping two shots in a sequence with replacing two shots with new material.

Quite possible. normally when I hear an editor say “Oh I just swapped out a few shots, the timing is still the same though”, I end up seeing the sort of thing I referred to in the previous post.

  • [Michael Gissing] “Swapping shots without changing length is trivial and should be no problem for anyone.”

Ahhhhh spoken like a true editor.
Of course that 20 second shot you just swapped out didn’t affect timing at all because the new shot is 20 secs as well, but now it is an exterior scene of a space ship firing lazer guns at the 6 enemy spaceships that are surrounding it and whizzing by at the speed of light, instead of the interior shot of the captain sitting at his desk contemplating which course to take. It’s just trivial and probably not even worth mentioning to the sound editor and mixer:) Of course it’s not a problem to build the sound for a 20sec spaceship dog fight scene but how much extra money do you have?

[Nelson May] “It is crushing the blacks and is starting to crush the reds and blues. It is really making the shot look bad.”

I’d say the shot looks pretty bad to start:)
Unfortunately all that detail is pretty much lost forever and all you can do is bring it to within broadcast specs.
There is always Captain Mench’s blow out filter but don’t expect it to work miracales.

Check to see if the pro apps update worked on the other programs.
What is the version of Motion, color, compressor, apple qmaster?
Perhaps you just need to re-install the updater.
