But Peter, you failed to mention that he’s streaming 4K frames via satellite link directly to his iPhone server for instant worldwide Internet distribution to the bride’s 10,000-plus immediate family members who could not be in attendance.

    Ah – I didn’t know Logitech did 4K webcams!

I also apologise for the embedding – something funky going on with the aspect ratio & layout with YouTube & iframes. Please feel feel to adjust.

    That’s classic:)
The real question is, who is actually filming him rather than getting the bride?

[Frank Nolan] “who is actually filming him “

That is the BTS crew, they are making a full length documentary about his set up. It would be cool if he is streaming it. Wonder if that is what the card taped to the front of the laptop is, an encoder. But you know he is a novice because he is using scotch tape instead of the miracle gaffers tape.

That looks like an internal hard drive taped to the back of the laptop there is some sort of power cable USB adapter on there as well…bizarre! Maybe he ran out of space and needed an external hard drive 🙂

    wow…thanks for the laugh Peter!

Also looks like he has somehow managed to gerry-rig an I/O card with a direct connect to mainboard of his laptop.

Haha! Hats off to the kid for ingenuity.

What ever the story as to why he is shooting a wedding like this, I love it (at the same though glad I didn’t hire him to shoot my wedding 😉

Give ’em another month, and Zacuto will be selling a rig for gripping it:-)

This truly is great. I love the ingenuity. But at the same time, the stupidity of not using a cheapo handicam makes me think less of him.

I definitely hope he’s broadcasting the wedding.

A friend of mine does weddings and I told him he should offer a broadcasting package for the ceremony. Easy enough nowadays.

I’m impressed by the ingenuity. However, it’s certainly a very clumsy looking setup. I wish we could find out who this vendor is and ask him questions directly about his product and service.

When 4G service becomes dependable in NYC, I plan to stream live as many video productions as possible on my site. The demand is there, just need the technology to catch up.
