    Hi Gilles

The best tool I found is the Vegasaur Toolkit. They have a demo version. Try it out… and do try the other options.

    Hi Randy

Everything seems to point towards a problem with Quicktime. Now, this is just a educated guess on my part but I suspect that your problem lies with the introduction of the codec for ProRes in V14. In prior versions, you needed to download Apple QuickTime in order to import and create ProRes files. There would seem to be a conflict between the 2 codecs.

Maybe if you uninstall Quicktime it may work… Let us know what happens.

    Hi Jimmie

What version of Vegas are you using ?

Also, I notice that your computer’s language is in Dutch, shouldn’t your project be set at 25 or 50 PAL instead of NTSC?

Also try to render with Field order: None (progressive scan) and let us know if you get the same results.

    Cheers !

    Hi Randy

Had to ask ’cause I also run Vegas 12 but on an other computer. Do you get the same message from V17 for other types of files or only with .MOV files ?

Just trying to eliminate the obvious possibilities before I tell you to wipe V17 from your computer, then run a program like CCleaner to (sorta) clean the registry and then re-install. Sometimes it does do the trick.

    Hi Fabien

Here’s a crazy idea. You’re saying that when in GIMP you can create a GIF that works and does what you what it to do. Create the GIF and import it into a new project in Vegas as an image sequence and render it. This done to prevent your comp from slowing down if you were to simply import the .GIF into your project. Also, I vaguely remember using a .MNG file instead of .GIF a while back that came out of GIMP. Quality was way better than a .GIF. I can’t remember if I had to convert it before it could be imported into the Vegas project but the quality was there.

    Cheers !
