    Hi folks,
I need to add closed captions for a video which will be rendered as an mp4. I thought Google would server me tons of possibilities, but I came empty-handed.

The Vegas Help file states: “When you render to a format that does not support embedded captioning markers, an .SCC file is created using the base name of the rendered media file.”
    I don’t quite get this.

What is the best way to add CCs to my video without having to manually create and overly text media on the timeline. The mere thought of this makes me cringe. lol

    Hi Gilles

The best tool I found is the Vegasaur Toolkit. They have a demo version. Try it out… and do try the other options.

    Thanks Francois!
This Vegasaur Toolkit may do the trick but at US$99 for this single use for a not-for-profit is likely out of the question.

    Are there any native solutions?

    Hi Gilles

Wanted to add that there is more than just the ”text-subtitle” feature in he Vegasaur tool kit. You get a lot of bang for your buck. Go thru the demo version and see for yourself.

    Cheers !

    Merci Francois,
I understand. I already have the Vaast tools and have not needed any of those fro Vegasaur until this point. Hopefully f I can do what’s necessary for the client with native features. Good to know Vegasaur is there should desperation set in lol.
