Hi Randy (sorry about calling you Robert previously)

One can not expect to get the same results as someone else. There are to many variables such as differences in hardware, files types, plug-in usage, etc… Best is to start testing by always using the same source file, tring all of the different options and then making your choice according to preferred results. As with any other software, there is a learning curve and taming of the beast.

    Cheers !

    Hi Roger

If I may, after you’ve selected Voukoder , Highlight Use Project Settings then Customize Template will be made available. Select Open Voukoder dialog… and choose your settings.

Steve was right. I’ve cut my render time by a factor of 3.

    Thanks again Steve R.

January 19, 2020 at 12:20 am in reply to: Not enough space in the temporary file folder

    Hi Bo

First off, you may want to see were the temp files for Architect are on your computer. By default, this is how and were they are created after first install (your name should be in lieu of mine of course)

This is how you get there: Options/Preferences/Burning

Don’t ask me the technical reason why but Architect needs at least twice the amount of space needed when the temp files are created. So, with that in mind, you can change were you want your temp files (both of them) preferably on a separate drive.

    Cheers !

    Hi Steve

Tried Voukoder as per your suggestion to Roger B.. I tested it on my other computer that has V12. I do this so not to take any risks with my ”bread and butter” computer that has V16.

Did some testing and a soon as I try to open the Render As window, everything crashes.

I couldn’t find much of a tutorial (unless one understands Russian) or any other info.

Do you know if there is a resource site short of the forum ?

    Cheers !

    Hi Gilles

Wanted to add that there is more than just the ”text-subtitle” feature in he Vegasaur tool kit. You get a lot of bang for your buck. Go thru the demo version and see for yourself.

January 14, 2020 at 11:36 am in reply to: Renderd video loses quality in VEGAS pro 17

    Hi Jimmie

Things can get weird when going to or from different Field Orders. There are so many variables that can come into play. One needs to establish specification lineage. Is the original material produced interlaced or progressive, frame rate, media file format, etc . Same with settings of capture of material. At every step of the process, were the same parameters kept. Also, keep in mind that there is quality loss every time something is recorded and/or rendered.

I know that this lecture is not what you are looking for but with the (fairly) recent democratization of video capture and editing, most of the ”Why and How” was lost with the automation of the processes. Everything will work and come out great as long as you don’t deviate from ”The
    Standard
” (if there ever was one…) That leads to potential problems along the way. I’m just saying that you have to take everything into account. One seemingly negligible thing can throw you a curve ball.

It would be nice to have a single button that would fix everything. Unfortunately, sometime you end up with problematic material along the way.

What is the end use of your material ?

    Cheers !
