also keep in mind that Keylight uses a default gray color for replacing spill during spill removal…sometimes changing this color to match your subject or background. Using the Status view, you can see areas in which keylight is manipulating as they will show up as a light green in a otherwise black and white image.
There are a couple of tutorials around such as the “super tight junk mattes” tutorial, which will help you eliminate much of your background so that you are only keying on a small amount around your subject. Allowing you to be a little more specific and lenient with your keying settings.Erik

No demo available for Procoder 3…or 2 for that matter. The demo is several years old and is 1.x
Procoder is pretty good about being able to read just about anything as long as the appropriate codecs are installed.
I’ve never done it, but Procoder can import image sequences….you load the first sequence file in the sequence as a source, then select “multi-image files”…

Are you using Procoder 3?
Field order will definitely impact the quality of your DVD. Procoder will compensate for field order switching, however, it would need to have known the correct field order of the source. So if the source is actually lower field first but procoder thinks its upper, then the resulting field order will be incorrect.
I’m still using Procoder 2, it allows me to force the field order in the source page.BTW, If you are working with DNxHD the field order will be upper field…

You just need to download the latest CODEC pack. It contains DNxHD codecs and can be used in any QT aware app. It’s available for MAC/PC.

I think what you were looking at was the codec source codec in case you wanted to incorporate teh DNxHD codec into your own application.

Yes. Open Cat.aep and import Dog.aep. AE will import the project as a folder containing your comps from dog..duplicate the comps and so on.

Are you stuck with delivering an AVI?
AVI’s can be tricky since an AVI is just a container and the contents can be extremely varied. If you are creating a DV AVI (which is compressed, and are usually lower field first). Uncompressed AVI can either but the file size can be unmanageably huge.
Check with your client (or whoever you are delivering this to) to find out if they can use a QT using the Animation codec which is a lossless codec that is cross platform.Erik

“my last frame is a solid black image, instead of my bike.”
I think that this is where your problem lies. I see your bike flash real briefly before the black pops up. My guess is that your player StreamPlayer is showing a black frame because your animation as stopped, instead of continuing to display the last frame.
If you’ve set up your animation with only one or two frames of the bike at the end, you might try extending this out to several seconds, a minute, whatever…
I also think that most of the flash banners and such that you see around the web are finalized in the Adobe Flash application with a certain amount of flash programming behind it before publishing it as a SWF. Since you are just exporting a SWF straight out of AE, there is no control to tell it how to behave, you are at the mercy of the SWF player you are using.Look into Flix from On2 Technologies ( on2.com ). They have an QT exporter you can export FLV and SWF straight out of AE or QT. They also have standalone converters and a library of players as well. While not free, it’s a darn good buy for the price and quality.

You might also look into the Flix exporter from On2, it’s a Quicktime Exporter…so you should be able to export out of Quicktime Pro, Compressor, etc… It does a fine job of encoding.
