Never came across this. Roles work as they should here. (Sometimes clips end up in the wrong track, but then it turns out the roles were simply set wrong!) Did you double check?
A workaround for you would be to completely leave roles alone. Since you only export an audio-mix, you don´t really need the roles-workflow, do you?

The new driver solved this issue for me – and the recent Premiere is running beautifully – even on this seasoned MacPro.

I´m definetly in for the new mac pro, when it is out. I think you could still use your Kona with that machine – in a thunderbolt-chassis. (If you need I/O at all)
I´ll personally get an AJA T-Tap for Monitoring with the new mac pro and leave the kona where it is. For an occasional HDCAM or Digi-Beta costumer…. -
I think the audio issue is not directly related to running CC on a 32bit efi. I also happens on other systems.
But, ironically, my 1,1 MacPro was running ok with the 64bit CC Plugin before. Only when I upgraded the kona card-driver to 10.4.5 things got crazy.

The fs100 outputs only 4:2:2 over hdmi and its only 8 bit.

It should work…
Maybe your card died with the G5? Did you put it in a slot AJA recommends? Did you check if it is seated in the PCI properly? Try a PRAM-Zap…. -
Did you try connecting the fs700 via USB to your computer?

why do you want to record 720p in the first place? The camera can record 1080/60p and the gemini can record that.

But i Never Managed to burn a XDCAM-Disc with 4 channels. Though cameras Support that….
With the Content exporter, ist seems you have to have 8 channels… -

could you please specify the exact settings that worked with XDCAM HD422 ??
Because we need to deliver XDCAM-HD-Discs with 4 Audiotracks and never managed to deliver a file out of FCPX that content exporter is capable of to write to a disc.
