The fix to install update for me was to delete the original then buy again (free of course).
However I started my first class teaching FCPX tonight and found my Events and Projects not working at local college due to older FPCX version.
No biggie just rebuild it during class time.

I did also notice that to use XML export you need to select the project from list.
Dumb was trying to export from timeline…and I call myself a teacher 😛

I started teaching my first FCPX class tonight.
    First off it went great.
The only problem was that I couldnt open my Events and Projects (sitting on a external).
The school had 10.0 and I blessed my files with 10.1.
Oh well we started from scratch anyway.

Ive heard numbers as high as 40k but I would get errors time to time with all kinds of sizes way lower than that.

Ive asked this too on a diff post.
The ebay version is a 480 whilst everyone talks about the 470.
Need confirmation as to the diffs.

    Awesome thanks!
Now the GTX isnt that a hack version to work on Mac?
I might have a hard time suggesting something like that to my company if it is.

Its amazing how we all have to write our adventures in this new world we call FCPX 🙂
Keep em coming cause we need to hear your voice.
I learn so much from reading posts such as yours.
Im currently approaching it from a different angle.
Avid user by day but teach FCP at local college by night.
I’ve been writing out tutorials and find FCPX to be just an amazing tool.
I try not to put it against the older paradigm since most of my students are first year.
Keep in mind that these are mostly hobbyists and not aspiring Film editors.

    Great post!

Great question and great answers 😉
Now if only most out there can read all this so that they can just learn the damn thing and quit whining 🙂
