Thanks Shane, checking the BMD site and cant see any extra drivers.
Ill check again or contact Tech if need be.
    Again thanks!

  • I did a similiar (except for the Pro Tools) set-up where Im running Avid, Decklink Extreme HD and a RED Rocket Card.
So far as so good except for display output from Avid to Decklink.
The Decklink is hooked up to a Flanders.
The Flanders has two SDI inputs.
I would like to avoid using the Nitris DX (Avid I/O box) for SDI.
This way the RED card can use the Flanders along with Decklink.
As far as adding Pro Tools, Ive heard good things to date but wish I can add to your post.
Our Pro Tools Mac Pro is hooked up to a Yamaha DM1000.
Maybe in the future we will put it all on one box.
You have any luck to date on answers? outside of Cow of course 🙂

March 29, 2012 at 1:49 pm in reply to: Two 4800s vs Three 4000s?

Sorry to bring up an old thread but what does this mean to most experience users:
Currently the Nvidia Quadro FX 4800 card provides the best performance in a 1 GPU DaVinci Resolve system.
Got that from the Support site.
Reason Im asking is that I have an old 4800 sittin on a new Lion box by itself.
We have a CUBIX with a single 4000 and planning to add another.
Should I turn the 4800 box into a back-up for Resolve.
We have an extra REDRocket we can add to that.
Not sure if the RRC will help with Resolve but it could make a nice temp DIT system.

Im glad there wont be any out for awhile.
refreshing a half-dozen Mac Pro’s is both exciting and exhausting 😛

For my set-up I wish it was that easy.
The dual screens are side by side and the problem diplay is the left one.
The on/off button is on that right of that display.
Im pretty sure a shorter length cable will fix it.
    Thanks for the tip though.

Thanks Gary, Im hoping it is the cables.
We installed special Dual Link cables for that system years ago.
Using the Gefen, it did the job for over 4 years now.
I do believe the cables are 20foot each.
We are moving to a new facility and will bring that down to no more than 12 feet.
Sadly its not just a Cubix problem.
It has moved from the Avid system to the Pro Tools one.
And it only occurs on the left display.
My apologies for stating that its a Cubix issue.
We wont be dealing with this till after the move.
    Thanks again!

Sorry I didnt clarify my workflow.
The files are all DNxHD due to import from XDCAM.
Im just wondering (out loud) if its a simple export from Avid into Resolve then back.
Trying to create one killer workstation at work with Avid and Resolve all on the same box.
