I’ve had to export eight channel audio using MXF.

To me somethings broken between R3D and Adobe.

But honestly I’ve been working with RED since 2009 and I have never seen that issue.

That would drive me nuts 😛

yea that sounds maddening.

I usually dont work in RAW mode in AE since my workflow targets VFX.

So clips get conformed to ProRes flave asap.

Did they supply (only on newer RED cameras) a ProRes proxy?

Curious if that also creates this madness.

When you ram preview do you select portions?

Or the whole clip?

Curious to see if you can pinpoint a part of the clip.

You might need to contact RED on this one.

Have you checked in REDCINE as far as preview?

So it was ProRes when you were having issues then converted to h264 and now no issues?

Was the system struggling to play the ProRes?

Its usually the other way around as far as codec issues.

Do you suspect the codec?

Do have time/resources to test a current project in a diff NLE?

I noticed you didnt mention working in ProRes, maybe I missed that.

We run M1 MacBook Pro for all Adobe products. They do the job for most and surprisingly handles AE CC2023/24 well. I just got my M3 upgrade and will be putting it to the tests.

I don’t care much for putting together a killer machine of late.
I drained my brains out years ago dealing with Windows for Maya/Max/SoftImage use.

I even tried to put together a killer Resolve PC box and settled for a top of the line HP.

It was a no brainer. Cost over time.

Now were talking about the output tech you need to display the content.

As mentioned, you would need a central brain to feed all the displays.

Past experiences for me is using a single source with enough GPU to playback all the displays.

I’ve done multiple LCDs in varying sizes as well as the Christie cubes.
