Would this remain exclusive to the NEW edges that the Film Burn effect creates, and leave the pre-existing edges alone?

Then why, in the FORMATS list, does it specifically say “Camera Raw (long list of extensions)”?

This is in the Open/File dialog.

the limits of resolution is one pixel: even though you THINK you can split the difference, one pixel is one pixel. If you’re at 1600% zoom you probably think you can get between them. You cannot.

What you want is to make a translucent mask at that border pixel. Use some transparency on your brush, or feather the selection.

A “point” is a slippery concept, and depends on the size of the output.

To make a one pixel line you can:

    Select the entire images (ctrl+a)
    Select EDIT/STROKE
    enter “1” in pixel width
    choose your color

I used “Center” and it worked fine, although “Inside” worked too. “Outside” did not work.

You’re SOL in AE: you’ll need a real 3d package.

Blender might do this, but it’ll be a steep climb. By far the best idea is to subcontract out this particular effect to a 3d animator. Less pain all around.

No need for tracking if it’s locked down like the trojan shot.

TMK both Boujou and Syntheyes would be a serious investment: looking for free trackers for a moving shot would be time well spent. Voodoo is one, but you need very clean footage. Also, the Icarus Project.

Boujou seems to have a demo, but I dl’d it and it wanted a license.

When you render it to .wmv, what s/w are you using to check the frame rate?
