Autocad with After Effects
Hello!
I have a project of using a 3D model of a village that would “grow up” from the ground into some real footage background. I will probably have the village model done in Autocad. Is there a way to import the .DWG files into After Effects?
Has any one worked on a similar project before? What would be your advises?Thanks in advance!

No, AE doesn’t import any 3D models, you need a 3D app for that.

You’re SOL in AE: you’ll need a real 3d package.
Blender might do this, but it’ll be a steep climb. By far the best idea is to subcontract out this particular effect to a 3d animator. Less pain all around.

I’d read about the limitations of the plugin zaxwerks 3d invigorator in AE. Know the whole workflow before investing.
