Anyway, thank you so much… maybe this also has the potential of using stabilizer software (Boris or Mercalli) at SD resolutions from HD frames …. what do you think ??

..I’m just exploring Boris RED as Vegas plug-in and I’m very pleased of what you can do with it…. is amazing to discover such a great tool (and, at last for me, not very known…) … just the FX & transitions library plus the text creator (even 3D) are very good tools to add in Vegas … is like a “mini-after effects” for Vegas …. maybe just ask for better integration between host & Boris ….

highly recommended….

1 – edit VOB or mpeg in timeline…
2 – my render settings for you tube:

– MainConcept AVC/AAC (mp4) with custom settings (from initial iPod 640 x 480):
– Video rendering quality: best
– frame rate: 30
– pixel aspect: 1
– Num. of reference frames: 2 and check Use deblocking filter
– Variable bit rate (not using 2 pass, but you can test it also…)

…. give me very good results and also can be switched as “watch in high quality mode” when you upload to YouTube.

Vegas is a great NLE for editing and making great looking videos on a wide variety of formats …. for an autorun video CD you have to determine what type of final product is best for your needs … We’ve made several types of CD/DVD-ROMs (with autorun, which is not from Vegas) with videos on different formats (WMV, MOV, mpeg1 or 2) and even flash video (not encoded with Vegas), it all depends on what do you (or your client) need and also what authoring environment are you going to use (data only disc, flash, director ?) …. also, Vegas can render to the so-called “videoCD” std. under the mpeg1 templates, which “was” good before the DVD burning capabilities appears …… Vegas makes the video for your show and you decide the way to make the show (DVD, CD-ROM, videoCD, DVD-ROM, web video….) and for that, maybe you’ll need some other tools…..

I have the ADVC-300 too and works very nice capturing with Vegas (DV-AVI) AND it is also a very good output device for monitoring on an external TV or monitor (only SD) ….

this is what I do to obtain best quality FLVs with vegas:

– render in vegas AVI uncompressed with best settings and progressive field order (big and best quality file to start).
– encode AVI to FLV with flash encoder (8 in my case) using On2VP6 codec, modifying screen size, quality (Kbps), fps (usually half the original) and audio settings as required to get best quality vs. file size.

….done ….

…. I’ve used super only for iPod conversions and that kind of stuff…

How is your HD external monitoring (monitor used, conection, is real time and full frame, any issues ???) …. I’m very interested too…(Vegas 8pro)….

…very simple and effective (with many pre-defined effects):
SwishMax (flash tool)…. just export as SWF (flash 5) and use it directly in Vegas…

…check the “about..” section under the help menu to see if your DVD drive is updated and supported … is on the multimedia devices section on both Vegas & DVDarch ….. just a thought…
