..your screenshot certainly doesn’t look very well … does the captured AVI looks good in media player ?… is it good playing in the Vegas timeline (without render) ??? … really is not that complicated:
1- capture with a good selection window (size mentioned seems OK) and make AVI in Camtasia.. avoid any edition or dimension changes there …
2- ingest clip in Vegas and edit … make your pan & zooms …render to required output format..nothing special here….. I’ve made this before with very good results ….Good luck

maybe you can prepare a movie file in Picasa, which is WMV video that Vegas can read for later editing and effects… you can make the movie with “dummy” pictures (solid colors) and your titles, and then arrange the photos in Vegas ….. just ideas ….
Good luck

November 11, 2008 at 4:05 pm in reply to: Please help Vegas 9 and poor youtube qualityI use Vegas 8 with the following render settings (start with a clean AVI or HD master project):
– Mainconcept/AVC/AAC: Start with the iPod 640 x 480 template.
– Modify Video rendering quality to best.
– On video section set Number of reference frames to 2 and check the use deblocking filter option. You can save this template as “you tube”….This seetings give me videos with the “watch in high quality option” enabled in You Tube …. I don´t know if you can set the same on Vegas 9…. Good luck

…I’ve done this working (mostly frame by frame) with the mask layer on the pan/crop window of your event… it is basically a combination of “drawing” and animating a mask (over the “fake” filmed lightsabers), glow, color, and blur effects …. maybe a google search for the tutorials can be more productive if I try to explain it srep by step…. at the end you can also add some lightsaber soundFX …the final result can be really amazing….
good luck

…if you have Flash and Dreamweaver CS3 I would better render in Vegas to AVI (uncompressed, progressive, best quality) and use the flash encoder (from CS3) to get an FLV video… you can tweak the settings on the encoder (fps, size, audio quality) to obtain very good quality to use on either flash or dreamweaver site ….
good luck
