Hi Colin,
It’s normal that you cannot see the model in the Top, Left, Right camera. Since 3D Invigorator is a plug-in that is applied to a 2D Layer, the 3D is only “projected” to the Comp Camera.
As far as positioning images or videos to the imported model, 3D Invigorator uses the same X,Y,Z positions as After Effects. So if you’re not sure where the imported model is positioned, go into the 3D Invigorator Set-Up window, and look in the Object Controls panel. Expand the “Info” controls, and you will be able to see the X,Y,Z coordinates for the imported 3D model.
It may be also easier to create a Plane (Primitive) in 3D Invigorator, match the position to the imported model, then apply the image/video as a texture map onto the Plane.
Hope this helps.

Hi Stephen,
If possible, try downloading the models in the “.obj” (Maya) format. Or, you can also try the “.lwo” Lightwave format. Both formats work best for our program. If the format doesn’t exist, sometimes it’s possible to request the author to provide an alternative format in .obj or .lwo.
Hope this helps.

January 18, 2012 at 1:41 am in reply to: Simple Question: How to Copy a Repeating Pose and Dynamically Locking 2 Objects Together on TimelineHi Suzzie,
The easiest way to copy one pose to another Object Track is to save the Object Track or the selected segment as a preset, and then add or append the preset to the new Object Track. This will duplicate all the settings from the Pose.
Or, you can use parenting to have objects be moving together. To parent, go into the Animation Controls panel, and select a parent in the Parenting drop down menu. You can select which Poses you would like to parent to another object.
Hope this helps. If you’re still having trouble, let me know.

January 12, 2012 at 1:30 am in reply to: Can’t see texture when importing .OBJ files into IPro Invogorator 5Hi Mike,
Can go you into a little more details about the colors being missing? Is it not applied at certain spots? If so, you can create additional materials and apply the material on those uncolored objects. When importing the model, it may be getting imported as several pieces, so this may be why some parts are not colored. You will need to apply a separate material to each object.

When you import a .obj object into 3D Invigorator PRO, the object will not have any materials applied to it. To apply a texture map, go into the Material Editor panel, and double click the Color box. This will open a window where you can select the map. Then, after you select your image map, you can drag and drop the material ball onto your object and the texture map will be applied.
For documentation on the Material Editor controls, please see the page below:

December 23, 2011 at 12:15 am in reply to: adding a picture (or reflection) to the front of a ‘whole’ textHi Mark,
To apply a material on the entire text, select the text, and apply the material onto the text. Then, go into the Material Docks panel, and click on the material that you applied. By selecting the material, this expands the Material Docks panel, and you should see an extra section below the docks. In the Mapping controls, select the option “Planar Front+” and it will apply the material onto your entire text.

No problem. Glad to hear you’re up and running.
Thanks for the update.

Hi Douglas,
Magic Glue is a type of Blend Mode. In the drop down menu, you’ll see many of the normal Blend Modes such as Multiply, Overlay, Add, etc. Basically, it’s just a different setting that you can use to blend the different colors together. You can try the different options in the list to see how the results of the colors change.

Hi Chris,
Sorry to hear about the issue you ran into and for the slow response. Our city has been hit badly by strong winds, and many electric poles and trees collapsed as a result. We were without electricity since last Thursday.
It seems like you may be running into an issue where the preference file has gotten corrupted. Try going into the “User > Library > Preferences” folder on the Mac, and delete the ProAnimator AE 5 Prefs file. On Windows, go to the C:UsersuserNameAppDataRoamingZaxwerks folder to delete the Preference file.
After deleting the Preference file, try going into the ProAnimator interface again and see if you’re still running into the same issues.
If you’re still having problems opening your project file, try sending the project file to me at ed@zaxwerks.com
I’ll take a look. Sometimes, I’ll be able to open up the project file and re-save it for you.
Hope this helps.

Hi Steve,
Be sure to crop the Photoshop document so that there are no margins around your image. This means, you will need to crop the top, bottom, left and right to the edges of your image. If your texture map has margins, then the map will not match the Illustrator outlines.
Hope this helps.
