Turn OFF “Lock Aspect Ratio” (one of the buttons down the left side)
Change “Maintain Aspect Ratio” to NO
    Resize as desired.

June 28, 2005 at 1:53 am in reply to: re-rendering menus on DVDA… bad quality

For menus, always render as DV-AVI because DVDA has to create the menus which means rendering. If you start with DV-AVI, it will be rendered instead of re-rendering MPEG.

You set the proper copy protection flags, send the output to DLT, and then ship that off to a DVD replication facility. You did want 1000 copys, right?

You can’t copy protect “burned” DVDs.

    Multiple ways:

    1) Options – Preferences – Editing tab – change the “Still image” length.

    2) Create a 5 second region on the timeline, right-click, and choose to insert the correct type of Generated Media.

    3) Use a script

    Uninstall the Media Manager
Uninstall the Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (Sony_Mediamgr)
    Try installing again.

Not sure what that means. You just put your mouse on either end of the event and click and drag. The only thing I can think of that would cause this to not work would be if you had something like a shift key or ctrl key or alt key stuck on your keyboard.

June 27, 2005 at 2:58 am in reply to: dual pass rendering, How is it done?

Standard video captured via firewire from a MiniDV tape (roughly 13 Gig/hour) is called DV-AVI.

  • Just install 6.0b – no need to mess with 6.0a. The downloads from Sony are full installs.

  • I just hit back, back, back to return to the original URL. Works for me – just found it interesting that it started appending the extra information. Love the fact that the date/time is now correct for MY timezone. Thanks much for that.
