TRIMMING WITH MOUSE

Not sure what that means. You just put your mouse on either end of the event and click and drag. The only thing I can think of that would cause this to not work would be if you had something like a shift key or ctrl key or alt key stuck on your keyboard.

sorry i wasent a bit more specific . when I trim an event on the timeline using the mouse no picture is avaiable in the video preview window it stays black

There’s a preference – towards the bottom of General Prefs – “Show video event edge in Video Preview window during edits”” – is this checked?
