    Gurus –

I must be missing something but I cannot figure out how to change the default time for generated media to display. The current default is 10 seconds and I want to change it to 5 seconds. Any help would be appreciated.

    Multiple ways:

    1) Options – Preferences – Editing tab – change the “Still image” length.

    2) Create a 5 second region on the timeline, right-click, and choose to insert the correct type of Generated Media.

    3) Use a script

    Edward –

I tried the above technique of changing the still image length. That did change how long imported still media displayed but it did not work for generated media. Since I have several pieces of generated media in the project, I was hoping there was a way I could set a default length like I can for still images. Since this did not work, I tried the second technique and it seems to work fine. Again, thank you for taking the time to respond.

It should work fine for new generated media being added to the timeline. However, it appears that if you drag it from the media pool it will maintain the original length.
