If you put the file in Vegas, do you see audio?

Can you determine the TYPE of audio in the file?

Can you use something like VirtualDub to export the audio to a standard WAV file?

You may be better off creating an image containing the text in PhotoShop (or whatever paint program you use) and then bringing those images into Vegas.

In the full version of Vegas, you would simply go to Tools – Print Video to DV Tape, and then follow the dialogs. One of the dialogs requests whether to place tone, bars, and amount of black. I would assume Movie Studio would be similar.

WMP captions will not show up on video tape. Here’s the basic options:

1) Use TRUE closed captioning added by a place that does closed captioning.
2) Use Sub-titles on a DVD giving the person the option to turn them on or off from a menu
3) Use generated media titles in Vegas to add the titles but you won’t have an option of turning them off.
