To make it even easier, forget using Pan/Crop. Just add two keyframes in the text generated media and, using the Positioning tab, set the first keyframe with the text off the bottom of the screen and set the second keyframe with the text off the top of the screen. This method is much more flexible as well.

In your case, it sounds like you’re wanting to render multiple projects – sort of a set it to this format and then render all projects to that format. Probably the best script for that is the Veggie Toolkit at https://www.peachrock.com/software/veggie-toolkit.html
I also have a “Render Queue” script that someone wrote. It’s designed for Vegas 4 but should require only a simple modification to work in Vegas 5 or 6. I could e-mail that to you.

Actually, I’m sure he means the Explorer window in Vegas. That’s what I use most times but Media Manager does have the advantages he mentioned. You cannot scrub the footage in the Vegas Explorer window. You CAN play it but only to preview it. If I want to scrub it, I typically add it to the trimmer or timeline instead.

When rendering to AC3, the audio level will drop UNLESS you make some changes. Try this:
In the AC3 “custom” screen:
Change the dialog normalization to -31
On the PreProcessing tab, change both the Line mode profile and RF mode profile to NONE.

Vegas 6 can use a secondary monitor for previewing. Otherwise you’ll need to use firewire for an external preview.

USB is not designed for capturing video. I don’t know what kind of camera that is but the standard method is capturing to a DV-AVI file via firewire. You’ll need to determine what codec is used in that file and then install a version that will let Vegas decode that type of file (AVI is just a wrapper that holds many different types of files).
