    I have a lot of scripting info on my site. You can also e-mail me and we could discuss various options.

    A script could be used to automate the building of the Vegas timeline and creating the MPEG2 output files. You’d still have to do each DVD manually from the automatically generated output files.

    A couple of ways:

    Take a snapshot and then use the “deinterlace” option in your photo editor.

    Change your project properties to Progressive before taking a snapshot. When using a script, these changes are made (and then reset when finished):

    Vegas.Project.Preview.RenderQuality = Best;
    Vegas.Project.Preview.FullSize = true;
    Vegas.Project.Video.FieldOrder = ProgressiveScan;
    Vegas.Project.Video.DeinterlaceMethod = InterpolateFields;

    Since you’re on “Movie Studio” and can’t use scripts, you can manually make these same changes before taking the snapshot and then change them back when done. The first two are important and are done by changing the preview mode to “Best (Full)”. The other two are under File – Properties.

    It potentially could. Taking a deinterlace snapshot should take care of that.

    I use a velocity envelope and then change the speed to 0% at that point.

    If it’s really the LAST frame of a clip, you can just make the event longer and turn off looping and the last frame will simply be repeated.

    If it’s NOT the last frame of a clip, you could make a sub-click where it IS the last frame and then do the above making it longer and turning off looping.

    You could also take a snapshot of that last frame and then put that snapshot on the timeline at that point and stretch it out as long as needed.

    There’s MANY ways to do this.

    Take a look at Vol 2 #5 of my newsletters for the “Beginner’s Corner” article. Substitute your image where I use the text generated media. You might also want to look at vol 2 #10, Vol 3 #1, Vol 3 #3, Vol 3 #4, and Vol 6 #1. There’s a whole lot more details there than I could ever get in a single post.

    Take a look at that article I mentioned. It explains how you can create a rectangle on the screen where the effect is not seen. But it’s only for the PREVIEW – the actual render will have the effect. The “Split Screen View” let’s you do that so you can see a before/after of the effect.

    Or are you WANTING to create a hole which would let other tracks show through? In that case, the Cookie Cutter or some other masking tool would work for you.

    I assume you’re adding the black and white effect? And you’re setting it to be black and white? If yes to both and it’s not changing, odds are you have the “Split Screen View” turned on and set to “Bypass Effects”. It’s one of the buttons above the preview screen – turn it OFF.

    Take a look at Vol 6 #1 of my newsletters which describe this feature and how to use it.

    Track 1: title
    Track 2: Background video

    You can’t put the title ON THE SAME TRACK as the video or it will REPLACE the video. Instead, always put it on a track above the video. The the video will show through in the transparent areas.
