    Greetings,

I work with video a lot and recently I’m working on a specific job.
Our company creates advertising DVDs which run at plasma screens around town.

This is how it looks like: each DVD has about 50 ads which is about 20 minutes long.
Each location that displays our ads is a little bit different (shopping malls, bus stations etc) and plays slightly different clients.

Bottom line is that every DVD I need to create is somewhat different ! Either different clients, different timing etc.
In the end I have (currently) 16 different DVDs to burn ! : /

For now I use “long method”:
line up my files in Vegas timeline, create one big MPEG2 for DVD architect, do that 16 times (for 16 different DVDs) then burn all 16 DVDs one by one in Architect (ouch!)
I’m looking for ways to shorten my tasks somehow…

All my files are MPEG2. I tried XML, but couldn’t make it work. Any advice in terms of technique or additional software is helpful, thanks.

A script could be used to automate the building of the Vegas timeline and creating the MPEG2 output files. You’d still have to do each DVD manually from the automatically generated output files.

Thanks for the tip Edward, creating files using script would be perfect. The sole burning labor I could easily give to the rest of the staff : )
If you could hint me where I could find out more about building such scripting procedure and accomplish my task I would be really thankful.
    BTW amazing forum : )

I have a lot of scripting info on my site. You can also e-mail me and we could discuss various options.
