Sounds like you have them docked together. Get to where you’re viewing the FX. In the upper left corner should be a series of dots going downward. Click on those dots and drag away from that area.

Double-click it. That will create a selection area around it and the lower-right hand corner below the timeline will give you the length.

That’s the length of time of AUDIO you could record on the currently specified drive based on your current audio settings.

You can add a marker to an event by adding it in the TRIMMER. Then it will move with the clip.

If you have ripple turned on, you can make sure you tell it to ripple EVERYTHING and the marker should also move.

If I wanted a marker to move with an event, I’d use the trimmer method.

Generated Media does not have the “Sync Cursor” like regular events do. However, it shouldn’t be that hard to determine. How far over from the left of the generated media does the effect need to be? That’s where you need to be on the generated media timeline.

If you put the cursor where it needs to be on the timeline, create a region from there to the beginning of the generated media. The width of the region will tell you where on the generated media timeline you need to be.
