Text (Video) Media Generator
Two issues here.
This 4 tabbed effect does a lot of nice things but the slider references only the PLACEMENT tab, well what good does that do me on the main timeline? I need to do an effect at a particular spot and I don’t have anyway to set a keyframe except by hit and miss! WHAT? How do I sync to the main timeline?Two. The default size of a text effect is 10 seconds, and if I stretch it…it starts over again, canceling any keyframe! How do I deal with this?

Generated Media does not have the “Sync Cursor” like regular events do. However, it shouldn’t be that hard to determine. How far over from the left of the generated media does the effect need to be? That’s where you need to be on the generated media timeline.
If you put the cursor where it needs to be on the timeline, create a region from there to the beginning of the generated media. The width of the region will tell you where on the generated media timeline you need to be.
