This is a long shot but try and rename one of the problem .MP4 files to .MPG and then import it into PPro and see what happens.

I seem to recall (but don’t know authoratively) that QT player does not handle non-square pixels. If you want 16:9 you need to use square pixels and an appropriate pixel resolution.

You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

To be honest, your best results will be using another program (like Photoshop) to resize the images to your project size, so that when you import them PPro does not have to do any resizing.

Unfortunately you are not missing anything as far as PPro’s capabilities are concerned. The behaviour you are observing is as designed.

This idea has come up before, I recommend you submit a feature request to Adobe.

Until then, export the changed frames to a separate folder and use Adobe Bridge or other utility to batch rename the files.

You should be able to open it like any other project. CS3 is compatible with both platforms, hence the project file is transferable.

Try opening AME from the Windows Start menu (or Mac equivalent) and creat a job from there. Does that work?

I don’t use Matrox hardware, but I have read on these forums that if you don’t keep it completely up-to-date you can expereince strange problems.

Check with the manufacturer for updates.
