Is it possible you copied the project folder from a CD and the file is tagged wrong on your computer. ie read only, or archive. Make sure those are all deselected on the properties of your folder.

    Good luck!!

May 10, 2006 at 5:00 pm in reply to: Capture from Panasonic 1200A to Avid Express HD

Hey guys, I talked to several AVID people at NAB about this, and basically the Xpress Pro HD takes in the 720p but only recognizes the metadata that is flagged at 24fps. If you shoot at another frame rate you will need the panasonic frame rate converter, which by the way is an awesome box. We’ve used it for our ESPN stuff and it worked really well.

    Hope this helps.

May 10, 2006 at 4:24 pm in reply to: how can i log my timecodes?

    Hey mr gfx,

Maybe you could try this. take all your shots, lay them down on your timeline. Then go into EDL Manager
and under file click on get current sequence. You will then get an EDL list with all your in & out points.
From their you can save as a text file, and print it off to be with your tape.

    Hope this helps

October 14, 2005 at 6:13 pm in reply to: why? Steppin in for FX

    Hey Alex,

Its “control Y” to add video tracks or “Control U” to add audio tracks.
When you double click a clip in segment mode that opens so you can add matte keys, fills, and other assorted fx to your clip.

    It’s in the manuals

    take care

August 25, 2005 at 3:24 pm in reply to: Digitizing 24P on in AvidDVxpress–Please Help

    Hey Benton,

I’m not entirely sure but I don’t believe XpressDV edits 24p, you would require Xpress Pro and even then you cannot digitize 24p…you have to have an Adrenaline digitize it and then take your drive over to your system and it will recognize the media…I could be wrong but that’s what I’ve heard. You might want to check the archive.

    Anyone else have some thoughts???
