Digitizing 24P on in AvidDVxpress–Please Help
I just shot a film in digital, in Cuba, and we’re editing right now. The things is it was shot on the Panasonic 24p Advance mode, and we’re editing in Avid DVxpress, and it doesn’t upload it in 24p. I know there’s a way to do it, I just don’t know how. And I can’t use final cut pro because there’s almost no macintosh in Cuba. Could you please give me some advice in how to do this?

Hey Benton,
I’m not entirely sure but I don’t believe XpressDV edits 24p, you would require Xpress Pro and even then you cannot digitize 24p…you have to have an Adrenaline digitize it and then take your drive over to your system and it will recognize the media…I could be wrong but that’s what I’ve heard. You might want to check the archive.
Anyone else have some thoughts???

Xpress DV cannot do 24.
XPress Pro can directly capture 24p ADVANCED over FireWire. You need to upgrade and select a 23.976 project type.
