It’s not really a USB/Ethernet thing, as we are currently supporting the JL Cooper Eclipse panels, which are Ethernet based.

There are no plans to support legacy DaVinci Network panels on the Mac Resolve. Those will only work on the Linux Resolve.

Make sure you have the latest Red Rocket driver and firmware loaded. You want to use at least version 1.3.5c of the Red Rocket installer app, which I presume can be found on the Red site. Make sure you update both the driver and the card firmware.

If you have that, or if installing that does not help, then put the Red Rocket card back in, and recreate the crash scenario. After a crash, run the CaptureLogs.app app in this location:

    /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/Davinci Resolve

This will place a .tgz file with all the Resolve logs on your desktop. Send that file, as well as your Mac System Profile XML file to:

Your Mac directory structure looks nothing like mine. All the stuff you show in that directory looks similar to my Applications directory. Are you running OS X 10.6.5 or 6?

Below is what my system looks like:

The path given above is correct:

    Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/LUT

If you have Resolve running on your Mac, then this path must exist.

The Resolve GUI is designed to run at 1920×1200 resolution. A 17″ MacBook Pro should normally support that. Is your display resolution 1920×1200? If not, and it won’t run at that resolution, the next best alternative is to connect an external display that can run at that resolution.

    Very baffling.

Could you please run the CaptureLogs app, and send the file it produces to davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com. You can find the app here:
    /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/Davinci Resolve
    It’s called CaptureLogs.app
When you run it, it will create a .tgz file on your desktop. Send us that.
Before you run the CaptureLogs app, make sure you have loaded your project and opened the Render widget and selected the Output Type dropdown menu.

Could you also export the project, and send that to the same address?

And also send us your Mac system profile file, in XML format.

Hopefully that will give us enough info to see what’s wrong.

On the Render widget, in the Output Type drop down menu, you should have several types of QuickTime formats to choose. Do you not see any QuickTime formats listed? If not, what do you have listed?

  • I’m not sure I exactly follow what you are saying. You need the 1.3.5 Red Rocket driver, and I think that will come with the firmware updater app, and the firmware needs to be in the 1.1.10.x range.
We are not expert at Red Rocket support, so if you are having issues updating the card, it might be best to contact Red, or whoever you purchased the Red Rocket card from.
