Click on the Simon Westland link in the UK/Europe/Africa/Middle East sales contacts area, and drop him an email. He should be able to help you out. Or give him a call at the number listed.

On the Distributors page in the DaVinci part of the BMD web site, is a list of names and numbers and emails of folks you can contact for more information. Just contact the person closest to your region of the world, and they should be able to provide you with any desired information on the DaVinci products. Below is a link to that page on the web site:

It’s been brought to my attention that the response I posted was a bit confusing, so below I will try to clarify it.

On the “Record” page (access with “Control r”), select the “Use Prefix, Suffix, Number of Digits from Source” check box, and on the “Recording Mode” drop down menu, select “Source”. This should render the file similar to r3d naming convention.

In the version 6 operations guide, this is described on pages 265 through 269.

If you don’t have the version 6 operations guide, you can download a PDF version here:

    https://www.blackmagic-design.com/downloads/davinci/pdf/DaVinciResolveManual.pdf

Actually, what you will be downloading at that link is the very latest Resolve operations guide, with BMD branding and some updates from the original version 6 manual. So all current Resolve users should probably download this new operations manual. And in this manual, the Record page description is on pages 200 through 205.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Regards,
    Dwaine

This would be the recommended solution:

On the Render page, select “Use Prefix, Suffix, Number of Digits from Source” and Recording Mode, select “Source” should render the file similar to r3d naming convention.

Also, feel free to send Resolve related operational questions to our support email group at:

Theoretically, any DAS system that can be setup to run the StorNext file system should work. In reality, I think that would be something that would be discussed between you and the Blackmagic Design Resolve distributor for your area when a system was being put together. Issues such a desired working resolution and storage bandwidth requirements for realtime playback at the desired working resolution would all come into play here. The distributor would discuss all those details with you and suggest solutions. You can check the DaVinci section of the Blackmagic Design web site for distributors in your area that could answer more specific questions.

Yes, the Resolve can work with DAS. It’s designed to use the Quantum StorNext file system.
