    Davinci Resolve and das storage

I am not familiar with Davinci but i wonder whether Davinci Resolve ( file based) can use direct attached RAID storage and work with it . ie high speed FibreChannel raid.

As i see that the resolve has fc interface , i just thought that i can use a das storage with it.

I appreciate any info . Thank you.

Yes, the Resolve can work with DAS. It’s designed to use the Quantum StorNext file system.

    Thanks Dwaine,

Allow me to ask more if you don’t mind please.

Does it mean it allow me to pick up any DAS FC raid storage of my choice ( the one suited to my bandwith need for sure) ie. CallDigit, SONET etc. and just direct connect to Resolve , format it and play ?

Or you have other idea ? Thanks

Theoretically, any DAS system that can be setup to run the StorNext file system should work. In reality, I think that would be something that would be discussed between you and the Blackmagic Design Resolve distributor for your area when a system was being put together. Issues such a desired working resolution and storage bandwidth requirements for realtime playback at the desired working resolution would all come into play here. The distributor would discuss all those details with you and suggest solutions. You can check the DaVinci section of the Blackmagic Design web site for distributors in your area that could answer more specific questions.
