Our GT120 is not for sale. You can get one at the Apple Store for $150. There appear to be some on Ebay as well.

Yes.
As you’ve noted, you can open Resolve without such a card, but as soon as you try to do anything with media, it crashes. So if all you wanted to see was the GUI layout, you could do that, but if you actually want to load a clip and do something with it, that won’t work without a supported card.
On the Blackmagic Design web site, in the Support area, under Mac OS X Resolve and Resolve Lite areas, is our Mac Resolve Config guide which provides details on supported hardware for Resolve on Mac.
If you have a GT120 card available, you could replace the 1900 card with that and have a working system.

It is impossible to run Resolve without a card that supports openCL OR CUDA under OS X. What graphics card is in your Mac?

The current correct Nvidia driver for those in 10.6.8 is: 256.02.25f01. That does not match what you say you are using, so that could be an issue. Also make sure you have the Aux power connectors connected to both cards. I’ve gotten a lot of calls from people who don’t hook up the Aux power connectors when they install a Q4000.

Resolve Lite has no source file resolution limitations. Only file rendering is limited to HD.

Until very recently, if you selected DaVinci Resolve as the file format on the Arri LUT builder web site, it made .dat LUTS, and those needed to go in the Arri folder.
But Arri has updated the app, and it now generates .cube LUTs when you select DaVinci Resolve as the file format. And .cube LUTs need to go in the Cinespace folder.

When I go to the Nvidia Download Drivers site, and select CUDA for Mac drivers, 4.0.19 is the latest one listed.
On my Mac, in the System Prefs area, if I click CUDA, I have 4.0.19 loaded, and a red “Update Required” message. But right above that, it says “no newer CUDA driver available”
So I’m not sure how anyone is getting the 4.0.21 driver. I know others have reported having it installed.
Our development team is still recommending using 4.0.19. Maybe 4.0.21 works as well.

Go to the Nvidia Drivers Download site. Select Nvidia CUDA Driver for Mac from the Drivers list. Download and install the 4.0.19 CUDA driver.
If you had Resolve installed before you installed Lion, reinstall Resolve, and the Digital Powerhouse error message should go away.

You absolutely can put 2 4000 cards in a Mac. 1 in slot 1 and 1 in slot 2. And one of them will be used only as the GUI card, and the other will be used as the GPU card.

You do not want to use a x4 PCI slot (i.e. slots 3 and 4) for a GPU OR for a GUI card.
