  • I assume you are getting this speed with a Red clip? What Red settings are you using? What you should use is half-res Premium. Full res premium will NOT play back at full speed, because the RR is in the x4 slot. So that’s just the way you have to work, if you need to put the RR in the Mac chassis. This is the way everyone with a RR in the Mac (running Resolve) normally works.

  • So you are only getting 20 FPS with NO corrections?

Are you getting any GPU warning messages?

  • You should reverse the slot 2 and 3 cards. The GT120 needs to be in a x16 slot. Yes, I know the RR is a x8 card, but it will work OK in slot 3 or 4.

I’m not an iMac expert, so I don’t know if you can upgrade the GPU in it or not.

You do not need a Mac Pro. You just need a Mac with a supported GPU. The newest 2011 iMac has a supported GPU, so that would work.

There is a Mac Resolve Config guide on the BMD web site, in the Resolve Support area, that details tested and supported Mac hardware configurations.

There may be other systems and GPUs that are not in the guide that will work to some degree. But the tested systems are in the guide. If you want to try something not in the guide, that’s a good use of the Lite product, to see if it will work.

The HD2600 GPU is not OpenCL compatible, so will not run Resolve.

No, Resolve Lite is limited to using 1 GPU. At least according to the Resolve Product Comparison chart here:

    https://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/davinciresolve/compare/

Having more than 1 GPU won’t hurt anything.

Jose, when you run Lite on your 3 GPU system, how many GPU’s does it show when you go to About DaVinci Resolve?

It means it supports one card for GPU processing. That one card can also be drug to its knees driving the GUI display, or you could have a separate GUI display card (recommended).

It must be Snow Leopard or higher (i.e. Lion). OS X 10.6.4 or higher. 10.6.7 or higher recommended for Resolve V8.

The GT120 will work. What OSX version are you using? If anything earlier than 10.6.8, I would recommend getting the 3.2.17 CUDA driver from the Nvidia Mac CUDA area, and installing that.

Also, the Nvidia driver you use much match your OSX version. For 10.6.8 and later, you should use the 256.02.25 version. Earlier you should use the 256.01.00f03 version.
