I’d say that during your 3 step process (AE->Ppro->AVID) you have mixed up the field order. Make sure it stays the same the whole way through. So if the vision is interlaced lower field in AE make sure you render out of AE lower field first. Then out of Ppro as lower field first. Then interpret it as lower field first in your NLE.

also, be sure to click on MASK SHAPE before copying, not just on the mask. I’m not at the machine now, but I think you have to make a keyframe on the brush position before pasting.

when you set all your output settings in C4d their is an option for interlacing (NONE, EVEN, ODD). Make sure the frame rate is set correctly in your project settings AND your output settings. I think the shortcut is ctrl-D to change the project settings. Interpret it the same in AE. That’s it.

If you are compositing in AE try using the multipass rendering. It is a big help.

you can render out with an alpha. Add your comp to the render queue, select a format that supports alpha channels (quicktime/tga or whatever). Make sure RGB + alpha is selected and millions of colours+ (the + means alpha).

I haven’t used FCP much but I’m sure it will handle the alpha just fine.

yeah, the download took ages. I left it going overnight. I like lots of the stuff, really cool, but I think you could cut out some of the more static bits just to make it a bit punchier (and download quicker). Focus the reel on all the really impressive bits.

I’m not sure of any free stuff….but you’d be surprised with what you can do just playing around with levels/curves/contrast. You might find you don’t need presets

    Hi,
I got the same problem a couple days ago on AE 5.5. AE would crash with this error the instant I opened the project. Even with caps lock on. I thought my work was lost forever.

BUT…..I opened a new project, and imported the old project. Now it is working fine, and I’m not getting that error.

So, to answer your post….I don’t know what it means.
