Let me know if you have any questions.
I am also looking for a job; let me know if you think i can fill a position you may have vacant.
Thanks,

July 3, 2005 at 11:18 pmyeah, the download took ages. I left it going overnight. I like lots of the stuff, really cool, but I think you could cut out some of the more static bits just to make it a bit punchier (and download quicker). Focus the reel on all the really impressive bits.

July 3, 2005 at 11:30 pmI’ll give good honest feedback…
You have some good work, but your reel isn’t edited well. You’re letting each clip play far too long. A reel isn’t the place to show each piece from start to finish, it should only take small bits of each work (the most exciting bits) and tease the audience. Take a 30 second spot, chop it up, and show 3-6 second bits, 2 or 3 times in the reel.
My advice would be to start a new edit. Get as crazy and fun as you can with it, then pull back if need be.
Good luck – have fun!

July 5, 2005 at 10:26 pmThank you for the kind words.
The Cannon composition was 100% AFX. It’s basically a high res picture of the camera, sitting on top of the circle rotated 90 degrees and a base aligned and masked to fit the circle. I then flew the camera into it, and had to fix alot of the masking.
I hope that helps.

July 5, 2005 at 10:56 pmPlease keep in mind, Rory, that we have a Demo Reels forum here at Creative Cow and those who like to interact on people’s demo reels, tend to frequent that forum and you are likely to often get far more responce using that forum.
Best regards,

July 5, 2005 at 11:05 pmSurprisingly I didn’t get any responses on the Demo Reel forum. I figured since it was all mostly AFX work that i’d bring it here to get input from people who understand the technical aspects of each piece on the reel.
Thanks for the suggestion.
