You can always add the timecodes you want manually in the clip properties after you digitize.

I agree with David that shooting you VHS on a monitor is a good idea and its probably the easiest way of dealing with the workflow problem. I have never seen VHS uprez to HD, but it can’t be pretty.

  • I don’t think there’s special steps to follow except that you do a clean install of the OS wiping all the info from the HD. After u do all the updates of the OS you need, install your FCS apps and updates and there u go u have a clean install of FCP. Don’t forget to back up all your project files before you do this.

I think Walter is right about iPig because here in Canada we are in the middle of a bacon shortage and they say we are gloing to get some by the end of April and it coincide with the end of NAB so I think we can expect something big.

Just check Peter Wiggins results from a couple of week ago. The Universal version seems to be very fast on the MacBook Pro. Peter even talks about it in the podcast #29 of CreativeCow.

All we have to do is wait for the reviews from NAB because like a lot of new products, it looks good, but i’m sure theres restrictions, drivers and issues with other hardware. It looks promising though.

How about the Huge MediaVault Max 4105 Series as an option.
