Appleinsider claims that Apple will be releasing their 17″ MacBook Pro at the National Association of Broadcasters conference next week.

The NAB Conference takes place between April 22-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Last year, Apple announced Final Cut Pro 5, Motion 2, SoundTrack Pro and DVD Pro 4 HD.

The new 17″ MacBook Pro is said to be similar in form factor to the current 15″ MacBook Pro but offer faster speeds, more storage, and, of course, a 17″ display.

There are also hints that Final Cut Pro 6.0 could be sighted as well as potential updates to Apple’s other Pro applications. Finally, the 13.3″ MacBook is said to have been pushed to “next month”.

I heard a Bigfoot sighting at NAB was also possible, and Donald Rumsfeld might possibly use NAB as an opportunity to resign as Sec. of Defense.

Keep and eye out for the flying pigs above the convetion center too. I hear Apple’s been working very hard on these and even Think Secret missed the iPig in their speculations.

The truth about NAB this year:

    1) It’ll be too big again.
    2) Everything you want to see will be scattered through around 14 halls. Full of radio transmission systems.
    3) You won’t find half of them – despite memorising the map, and wandering around the Adobe stand 68 times muttering “turn left at Autodesk and it’s right…… damn.”
    4) Despite promising your boss you’ll spend all four days finding all the hot new products, you’ll give up after 6 hours, and spend the rest of the time in the lounge bar at the Luxor/Mandalay/etc.
    5) Apple’s stand will be bigger than Luxembourg. And packed. Unlike the Avid stand opposite.

Wish I was going this year….. Have fun!

We won’t need earplugs this year. NAB has seperated Apple and Avid by a complete section. Yay!

    Jerry,

Unfortunately, or fortunately I am on a three week job here in Sheffield on the snooker & the BBC have hired me & my piglet edit suite again.

As much as I would love to see your barbeque demo (I have heard rumours about you doing it in 4K), I will have to wait until IBC – but then all the bugs will have been sorted

MattyC – That is the most brilliant & off topic response I’ve seen on here for a long time, fantastic, made me laugh, well posted.
