Generated media has no associated time with it, therefore there is nothing to sync.
Same answer for why you don’t see the cursor position updating on the timeline when you move it in the Gen Media keyframe window.

Then you’d be the first in my many years of experience with Vegas.
Convert your files to a real format, and work from the internal drive, I’d imagine your experience will change. Try a Firewire drive vs USB, it might be that your USB allocation is a problem.
turn off any antivirus.These are all fairly basic places to start.
Before deciding that it’s your laptop and Vegas, first use ‘normal’ media in a ‘normal’ configuration adn work from there.Douglas Spotted Eagle

First, be sure you have the entire Quicktime suite installed. You don’t need QT pro, but you do need the authoring components.
Second, what codec does the QT container have in it? If the files were generated from FCP, they’re likely a format that can’t be opened easily in Vegas, and may need some massaging. If they are for example, AIC, or ProRes, then they will not open in Vegas without Quicktime Pro. If they are DVCProHD, you’ll need Raylight and QTPro to open them.
Or, they might just be an MJPEG codec, or other “normal” codec, and you merely need the authoring components.Douglas Spotted Eagle

You might try adding .01 Gaussian Blur to the final render. Sounds like you’re getting some interlace error? Are you shooting P or I?

Hold the CTRL key while click/dragging on the edge of the clip, and it’ll slow the media.
Or, right click/properties, set playback rate there.

Right click, properties, set the alpha channel in the Properties.

Spot will probably say to bump the 8 to 9 but this is ony of you’re using good brand-name media like Taiyo-Yuden or Verbatim.
Nope…IMO, your advice is “spot-on.” We don’t ever encode faster than 8.7Mbps, because even on high-grade media, this runs an increased risk of incompatibilities with the Eclipse master. Our *average* DVD is encoded no higher than 7.5Mbps, whether it’s training DVD or for small format broadcast.

Use End Actions to get from one video/file to the next without returning to a menu. Open End Actions with a specific file in the timeline, and instruct the DVD to play the next file. Sometimes there will be a very short hiccup as it moves from one file to the other.
